A. Clark Architecture serves a growing number of residential and small commercial clients who are seeking services from an architect experienced in working throughout the Bay Area. My architectural experience began in a Mill Valley office as a designer on new construction and remodeling projects ranging from San Francisco to the Central Valley. After several years of primarily residential practice, I worked in commercial architecture for over 20 years. In 2009, I decided to re-enter private practice to inspire clients with designs suited specifically to their needs, tastes and site considerations.

As a former city planning commissioner, I developed a thorough working knowledge of local planning and zoning regulations and established long-term working relationships with planning and building officials throughout the region. Every project requires detailed attention to blend program objectives and code requirements. Personal involvement ensures that my clients have a complete understanding of the design and approvals process.

Participating on community boards and commissions throughout my career has helped me in understanding the many design challenges to infill development. Sensitivity to adjacent neighbors and context is essential for successful design of infill projects. My completed residential projects include second-story additions, detached and attached additions in challenging situations and neighborhoods throughout the Bay Area.

I have worked on projects in:

* Oakland
* San Francisco
* Berkeley
* Hayward
* San Leandro
